Using Emergency Kill Switches

Step 1. Selecting the Lockout Level

The goal of this stage is to determine the scope of the required restriction and choose the appropriate tool to disable actions across the platform.

  1. Navigate to the Emergency Kill Switches page.
  2. The page displays 3 control cards, each responsible for disabling the creation, editing, and deletion capabilities at its respective level:
    • Global Kill Switch — halts the specified actions across the entire platform for all entities.
    • Team Kill Switch — isolates and blocks actions for specific workgroups (teams).
    • Account Kill Switch — precisely restricts the actions of individual user accounts.

Step 2. Activating an Emergency Kill Switch

The goal of this stage is to complete the validation and confirmation procedures required to securely trigger a lockout.

Depending on the chosen scope, fill in the parameters within the corresponding card:

  • For the Global Kill Switch:

    1. Fill out the textarea field, specifying the reason for the emergency lockout in detail.
    2. Check the mandatory acknowledgement box: "I understand the consequences. I assume full responsibility for this action."
    3. Enter the confirmation text "GLOBAL" into the verification field below.
    4. Click the Activate Global Kill Switch button.
  • For the Team Kill Switch:

    1. Fill in the text field stating the reason.
    2. Select one or more specific teams from the dropdown menu.
    3. Click the Activate Team Kill Switch button.
  • For the Account Kill Switch:

    1. Fill in the text field stating the reason.
    2. Select one or more individual user accounts.
    3. Click the Activate Account Kill Switch button.

Step 3. Monitoring and Deactivating Lockouts

The goal of this stage is to audit ongoing restrictions and safely revert the platform or its entities back to standard operational mode.

  1. Below the three control cards, there is an Action Log Table that lists all active and past kill switches.
  2. To remove a restriction, locate the relevant row in the table and click the Restore button.
  3. Confirm your choice in the modal window (popup) that appears. Once confirmed, the kill switch will be deactivated, and data creation, modification, and deletion capabilities will be restored.
